The recent floods which have created havoc in Chennai have left the city in a crippled state. Abhishek Bachchan, who has been stuck in Chennai at the moment, took to his Twitter handle this afternoon to let fans know he was ‘safe and dry.’ The fans of the actor have been sharing their concerns via several social networking handles since morning. Abhishek, via his tweet, also sent out his thoughts and prayers for those affected by the floods. He tweeted, "Thank you all for the concern. Am safe and dry. Thoughts and prayers with the people more severely affected. #ChennaiFloods"

Abhishek was in the city to attend an ISL match, where his team Chennaiyin FC took on Mumbai City FC. With an umbrella in hand, the actor was clicked under the heavy downpour, cheering for his team on from the stands. Even Team Chennaiyani also re-assured fans of the actor’s safety, by sharing a handful of pictures from last evening’s match.

The situation in Chennai has hit a low ebb. Chennai, Tamil Nadu, have been receiving heavy showers of rains, which has resulted in the disruption of flights, trains and left several areas swamped. The Army and Air Force are also called in for rescue work and the Navy and Coast Guard are also kept on standby.

We pray for the safety of Chennai natives.
