Ranveer Singh completed 5 years in the Hindi film industry on 10th December 2015. Speaking to a leading daily, Ranveer shared a few memories from his initial days in the industry and talked about how he had no sense about anything in the industry - from the technique of filmmaking to the ABC of acting!
Shedding light on his initial days in Bollywood, Ranveer said, "When I came into films, I was very clueless. I didn't know anything about the industry. I had no idea about the craft and technique of filmmaking. I used to wonder what the boom microphone is doing, where the light is, where the camera is. I used to ask so many questions. I didn't know the ABC of what it meant to act in a film. Although I have been an assistant director, all this was new to me. I have never been in a capacity of a performer, so I had to hit the ground running in that sense."
He also talked about how the success of his debut film Band Baaja Baaraat not only brought him overnight fame but also a kind of uncertainty about what was going on in his life. He shared how he was thrust into the limelight overnight and how difficult it was to cope with the same,
"I was thrust into the limelight pretty much overnight after the success of 'Band Baaja Baaraat'. I went from obscurity to fame in one night. So, it was very difficult to cope with that. I had not grown up around anybody famous. I had not observed what it means to be a public figure. I made a lot of mistakes, there were some really poor choices. I didn't know what to wear, how to dress like, I didn't know who to be. I didn't know what was going on. It was so overwhelming."
Well Ranveer, you have surely come a long way since then!
