It was Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who at one time, inspired Sanjay Leela Bhansali, to make a trilogy of films, namely Devdas, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, and Guzaarish. For a while, it was Rani Mukerji who seemed to occupy SLB's muse-space when the actress was seen in critically acclaimed Black about a decade ago. Then, Deepika Padukone took over as Bhansali's resident muse when he signed her forRam Leela and Bajirao Mastani. Now, it looks like Priyanka Chopra has become SLB's favourite. After Mary Kom (Bhansali's production), Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani, the actress has reportedly agreed to be part of his next film which is supposed to be an intense love story.
And what we discover while talking to Vidya Balan, who has created her own definition of style, charisma and with many critically acclaimed films in her kitty, is that the maverick creative director, who is currently basking in the glory of his recent release, Bajirao Mastani, had always wanted to work with her and also with Bollywood's eternally inimitable diva, Rekha. But Vidya is still wondering if her dream will ever be fulfilled. Naturally so. “Rekhaji has been in the industry for several decades now and if he hasn’t worked with her so far then I don’t think I stand any chance...lagta hai mera number kabhi nahin aayega,” Vidya reasons while breaking into a loud laugh.
