Now that Dilwale is released, YRF’s Fan is complete and just 20 day shoot (of some action and a song sequence) left for Raees, post that Shah Rukh Khan will move on to concentrate on Gauri Shinde’s next with Alia Bhatt as his co-star, and also proceed with his talks with director Aanand Rai.There has been a lot of speculation about Rai’s next project that requires the lead actor to play a dwarf.
Much earlier, Rai had meetings and discussion with Salman Khan for the role which didn’t materialise, after which he approached Shah Rukh. They discussed the project at length and Shah Rukh had unofficially given the film a nod. At that time Shah Rukh was busy shooting for Dilwale but apparently, he was committed to giving time to Rai’s film next month. And now as we hear that Rai’s team is working on the pre-production of the film and the look test with Shah Rukh is expected to happen sometime next month, there is buzz that the man of the moment, Bajirao Ranveer Singh is also being considered for the same role.
Just few days back, when Shah Rukh was quizzed about the film and whether he was all set for the look test, the actor didn’t appear quite ready for it, his immediate response being, “Noooo, that is a big task actually, we will have to plan it. I still have 20 days shoot of Raees left. The look test will require two to three days like the one I did for Fan. It is an important look test.”
Shah Rukh further said that he and Rai have spoken about three films. “Aanand and I have been talking, I have spoken to him about three films actually. He has got some very interesting stories to tell. I have known him for a long time. You meet lot of directors because somewhere beyond being colleagues we are friends, too, whether we are doing films together or not. Obviously being an actor, a filmmaker, producer we chat a lot on films. So we have some interesting thoughts, if it takes shape it will be very very nice.”
Shah Rukh continued, “He is a very interesting filmmaker to work with, and I think he finds me very interesting, too, because he keeps telling me that he uses me in all his films. I’m having talks with him and once I am finished with Dilwale post release promotions and also 20-day shoot of Raees in January, I will sit with Aanand."
