Director Neeraj Pandey's upcoming Biopic on the Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni starring Sushant Singh Rajput which has been in the making for sometime now, is finally set to hit the screens on 2nd September, next year.

Sushant took to Twitter earlier today to confirm the same. He tweeted, "#dhoniTheUntoldStory will release on 2nd September 2016. Can't wait;-))."

The movie shall see SSR step into the shoes of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. It will showcase Dhoni's life story also incorporating some very popular moments and also some exclusive details known only to a very few close aides of the cricketer. Audiences will also get to see the epic helicopter shot usually played and invented by Dhoni in cricket. For the movie, Sushant is said to be shedding sweat and blood to get the look and character of the legendary cricketer right.

Produced by Fox Star Studios and Inspired Entertainment, "M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story", which has been shot extensively in Ranchi also features veteran actor Anupam Kher, who will be seen playing Dhoni's father Pan singh.

Directed by Neeraj Pandey , the movie also stars Kiara Advani in the lead.
