Singer Adnan Sami who had been facing many issues related to his permanent nationality, can sigh of relief now.
The singer has been granted with a permanent citizenship of India by the Home Ministry, to be activated from January 1st 2016.
Seems like the tug of war between the two countries over the very talented singer has been won by India. Earlier the singer was denied to be issued with "renunciation of citizenship certificate" and an NOC (No Objection Certificate) to Adnan’s Indian citizenship by Pakistan. But with the current update, it seems that the actor can term himself to be an Indian. The singer’s Pakistan passport was cancelled by Interior Minister Ch Nisar, after Adnan Sami had returned the green passport with an insulting attitude.
We wonder what the political parties have to say on this! But indeed a great New Year gift to the singer by India, we say!
