The multi-talented Farhan Akhtar along with businessman Gautam Singhania, today were present under the same roof to promote the social initiative, MARD : Men Against Rape and Discrimination. Farhan also launched a deodorant brand at the event as all the profits derived from the product will go to the UN Women India for safe city projects and rehabilitation of manual scavengers. The actor took to Twitter to share the news of this positive step towards gender equality. He tweeted, ‘Proud to launch One, in association with Park avenue. All profits will go to @unwomenindia ... The director-actor-singer also addressed the media where he spoke about the current gender equality scenario and women oriented issues prevailing in the country. Akhtar is the founder of MARD Initiative and is also the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador of South Asia. He is currently tied up with his upcoming movie Wazir directed by Bejoy Nambiar. The movie that also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Neil Nitin Mukesh is slated to release on Jan 8, 2016.
