Akshay’s fans love the actor for his daredevil stunts, and bwoy, there are no two ways about it; he is the best when it comes to action! The actor has delivered some of the massive hits of his career as an action hero. Post his last release Baby, fans have been looking forward for an out-an-out action flick from the superstar. So Khiladi Kumar is now all set to enthral his fans with his next, ‘Airlift’, which depicts the story of how India evacuated Indians from Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait war.
However, since the film’s teaser has been released online, people are comparing ‘Airlift’ with Hollywood actor Ben Affleck’s film ‘Argo’, which bagged an Oscar. Putting all the rumours to rest, Akki broke his silence over the speculations by saying that the film is a complete original story and can’t be compared to ‘Argo’. In an interaction with a leading daily Akki said, “This is a complete original story and non-fictional. ‘Airlift’ is about a Kuwait-based businessman who was stuck along with more than a lakh people who were staying in Kuwait at that time (1990). ‘Airlift’ and ‘Argo’ are different and can’t be compared.” Actress Nirmat Kaur, Akshay’s co-star in the film, added, “‘Argo’ is a very small scale operation and it’s very specific. Both are different incidents and there is no resemblance between the two.”
In the film Akshay plays the role of Ranjit Katyal, a wealthy and powerful Indian businessman. It is based on real incidents set in 1990 in Kuwait the time of famous Gulf war when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait. He is supposed to help evacuate 1,70,000 people from Kuwait to India.
